The car battery is a recurring tool in the Amateur Surgeon games. It is used for many different things but it is also dangerous, as the patient's heart rate will immediately drop to 0 if the player uses it carelessly. If the patient's heart has already stopped (not necessarily caused by the car battery; there are other cases), then it will restore some health.

In Amateur Surgeon 3: Tag Team Trauma and Amateur Surgeon 4: Re-Generations, missing and hitting the patient no longer stops their heart rate, but it will still do a considerable amount of damage and leave behind a burn.

Amateur Surgeon Edit

The car battery is unlocked when the player begins the operation on Dwayne Pipe, known as Horrace at that point in the game. The car battery is used to shock bugs (instantly killing them). It is also used during the B. U. M. surgery.

Amateur Surgeon: Christmas Edition Edit

The car battery doesn't make a direct return in this game — instead, it is replaced by a taser which has the same use as in the previous game, with the added effect of powering the lights during the Generic the Elf surgery.

Amateur Surgeon 2 Edit

The car battery returns in this game and has more uses. It is used during the Capn' Splinters surgery to shock the squid, allowing the player to cut off its tentacles. It is also used during the Dr. Bleed bonus surgery and it simply kicks the heart rate up. When upgraded, it restores more health to patients.

Amateur Surgeon 3 Edit

The car battery returns again and has the same purpose with the slight difference that the player needs to drag the dead bugs onto the tray using the tongs.

Amateur Surgeon 4: Re-Generations Edit

The car battery basically has the same purpose as it's use in the previous game. The higher the tool is upgraded, the higher the miss protection.
