The Record Keeper, better known as Ygor, is a character from Amateur Surgeon 4: Re-Generations. He is the 87th patient in the game, while he makes small appearances in surgeries 86 and 86a.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Ygor acts as the bookkeeper in the lab, in charge of keeping the books within the facility safe and organized. He also watches over, as Ophelia Payne states, a special sample. This is later revealed to be a part of Alan Probe's brain.

It's apparent that Ygor had also worked for Hubris D'Obscene while he still had control of the lab, as shown in surgery 86a.

Amateur Surgeon 4: Re-Generations[edit | edit source]

Sometime during Ophelia's absence, pink worms had somehow gotten into the many books of the lab. When she returns to Ygor, she requests the sample from him to show to Ignacious II. However, he insists that they first help him salvage the books.

Books come first

After recovering the books, Ygor explains that he had kept the sample in a safe location. As he goes to retrieve it, he accidentally triggers a trap through a door, trapping him inside as a bunch of Verminators are released onto him. This breaks his bones, rendering him immobile. Luckily Ignacious is able to rescue him, Ygor handing over the sample in return.

Bleed's Description[edit | edit source]

Caught by his own trap, the bookkeeper has been set upon by his own guard rats. Once the rats are taken care of, there will be devastating scars to deal with. We can heal the physical ones at least.

Epilogue[edit | edit source]

Ygor makes a last minute appearance at the end of the Epilogue with Hubris, listening to his plans for the future. He tries to correct Hubris when he yells at the screen that Alan and friends cannot hear him. Hubris doesn't like this very much and shouts at Ygor to get out of the room.

Personality and Appearance[edit | edit source]

File Photo

Ygor has notes of all kinds stuffed into his shirt and vest, not to mention his one boot and file-filled backpack. The balding bookkeeper wears a pair of blue goggles, one of the eyes extended possibly for better vision. A short mustache rests under his nose, as bandages cover most of his body. For some reason he wears what appears to be a high heel on one foot and a boot on the other, along with a pair of gloves.

Most of the time Ygor expresses a courteous demeanor, though he can get a bit anxious when it comes to the safety of the books. He's even shown respect to Hubris in the past and continues to do so, despite the constant verbal insults from him. He appears to have a butler-type relationship with Hubris, for he's always shown expressing loyalty to him, addressing Hubris by titles such as "master", "m'lud", and "Great One".

Procedure[edit | edit source]

pre-op for the Record Keeper

Use the chainsaw to damage the scurrying rats. They're a bit speedy, so keeping up with them may be tough unless you have a high level chainsaw. The verminators will fall after exposed to the chainsaw for long enough. Afterwards extract them and vacuum up any leftover blood. Slicing into the arm, use the tongs to extract the white bone fragments. Keep in mind that the grayed out bone in the middle cannot be extracted. When all the white pieces are collected, you will be given the mended arm bones to place back into the corresponding areas.

pinned notes and verminators

There are more verminators to exterminate with the chainsaw when moving onto to the leg. Then you'll slice inside and extract more bone fragments, performing the same steps from before. The last area is the body, where you'll have to take care of more verminators. There are also notes you'll have to remove from the body. Extract the blue pins first, so then you can remove the notes.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • There are many notes on Ygor's body during the last part of the surgery, one of them which has the words "I.O.U $30 -DR. B". It could be possible that it is referring to Dr. Bleed.
  • In the Epilogue and the Through the Ages Blood Cup, Ygor's name is displayed as "Igor" instead.
  • Ygor retains his same exact elderly appearance during Hubris's past timeline, despite being much younger by then. Some players question how this is possible, however it could just be silly video game logic.
